Friendly staff and a quaint little shop. Extra seating in a shared community room. A little hard to see the location from the road - it's tucked in by a wine and gift shop. Great food and many menu options including for kids!
What a year to open a restaurant (2020), but here they still are Jan. 1, 2021 and in Effingham, IL. It's easy to miss because the sign outside is no yet ready, but worth finding.nVery new and very clean. Masks on staff and shields up at the counter. Seating is spaced and the food is good, starting with complimentary salsa and chips for the table. Page was attentive and knew about the off menu lengua tacos with its own variety of salsa $3.15 each. Other tacos $2.40 each (I think). Many more treats than just tacos, burritos, soups, fajitas, kids menu (with mac and cheese - so wrongud83dude44) and more.nDine-in, carry-out, or brought to your wine tasting in the shop next door.
If I want a chimmichanga with lots of sauce and cheese that appeals to my american sense of mexican food, I go to El Ranch on the north of town. BUT, if I want something more authentic, I go to Don Pedro's and get a giant burrito or some tacos. At least I feel like it's more authentic, idk, never been to Mexico. They put plenty of veggies on their burritos which is greatly appreciated. The red and green sauces they have are amazing, just ask them for some with your meal.
Posted under the wrong guide name at first, so reposting: Great food! I had the fish tacos and a side salad from the lunch menu and it was excellent and reasonably priced. I love very hot salsa with my chips and this did not disappoint. It was different and full of flavor. I'd give Taqueria Don Pedro 6 stars if I could!!
Amazing tacos, great salsa and sopa! I would explore more of the menu, but the tacos are soooooooo good!
