I was disappointed with this program when I attended 2009-2010 era. I already had a bs in chemistry when I began nursing program here. I was almost through the second semester with passing grades when I was not allowed to take the final by Chris Tesch. I had passed all written exams but was less than 5 minutes late to a class (a few of these times was sick vomiting with migraine night before had doctors notes), had some other unverifiable silly things used against me(maybe clicked on patient in computer system from a few weeks before to see if she died) and a nurse blamed me for a patient who missed a fentanyl dose even though as a student nurse I was not allowed to administer it by myself. I never was issued a refund of any type for my time wasted and tuition money when I was not allowed to finish my nursing class had disputed this with the school as discrimination since I was ordered to fill-out form to attend mri with a patient had disclosed some medical problems....right before I was kicked out of clinicals. School refused to accomodate my disabilities and kicked me out with no refund. I lost out on over $10,000 in student loans no refund was issued. I highly do not recommend this school because of the discrimination I suffered there. The other students messed up much more than I did where one guy had blood squirting allover the room from using a needle in needless iv never got kicked out and everyone thought it was funny. Everyone in my class before the second semester also had children where they made the main topic of conversation in Cindys class everyday about their children. I felt ostercized since I didnt have any children. I also did not care for how are mental health clinicals were conducted where I felt harrassed a few times by a staff lady there I did not know asked me if i was a psych patient when i was wearing my USD uniform was left alone with patients by faculty and other students. At least 1 patient appreciated my help since they said they didnt have anyone to talk to at the facility for 2 weeks before I showed up for my mental health clinicals. I remember I thought I did a much better job than other students at clinicals yet I was the one kicked out of the program and they were allowed to pass? I was horrified about hearing how 1 of the other students worked with the children at clinicals where she discussed how to quiet a child from talking about abuse they experienced and the teacher didnt offer any better advice. This problem I experienced here helped cause me to be unable to finish another program I was concurently enrolled in at University of North Dakota for clinical lab science where they give a yearly background check that asks if you ever did not finish another professional program. I took over 20 semester hours at 3 different schools when this all happened right after my divorce.
