Sioux Falls New Technology High School

I have 2 children attending New Tech High. This school is founded & based on integrity, personal character, accountability & professionalism. Prepared for higher education? Tthis school is not only preparing our children for higher education but for REAL LIFE. Is this school perfect? No, neither is real life & that's the type of environment that I want my children to be able to thrive in. These HS kids will be out of our homes in a few short years, grades won't be the key to help them survive. Knowing how to treat people with respect, being able to communicate, work alone and as a team (even if you don't like the people your in the group with), being able to apply what you've learned, solve problems, present solutions, be accountable.. these are the tools that will drive success & happiness. Beyond that, my children have made real friends. Friends that blend no matter what sport, what brand of clothing, no matter the household income they come from. The diversity which has helped them be more accepting has also made them more comfortable with who they are. Do I love & adore all of the staff? Nope. Do I wish some things were different? Yep. But instead of griping, I speak to my children and ask what they can do to overcome it. What can they do to help the situation. That's real life. :) Most of the staff is second to none. I've witnessed them going above & beyond on a regular basis. I've seen them shed tears of pride with encouragement & joy.
