My elementary-school aged daughter has participated in two camp sessions at living river and loved them both. She cannot wait to go back each year. This is a small, beautiful camp on a breathtaking river with a very low camper/counselor ratio and all the activities kids want from canoeing to archery to swimming and hiking and camp fires and camp songs. All of the cabins are climate controlled and have nice, large bathrooms.
Beautiful environmental center and camp. 440 acres located in a bend of the Cahaba river with about 4 miles of river front. I went for a few hours of guided hiking but kids that go to camp there stay in climate controlled dorms. This is a beautiful place with rich mining history and staff dedicated to teaching the history and ecology of the area.
Beautiful place to camp along the Cahaba.nWould definitely recommend to anyone who wants to camp and be outdoors, all while being close to home.
A peaceful spot to reconnect with nature.
