Had colonoscopy and scope they paid absolutely nothing all went towards deductiblenAnd I have a four thousand dollar deductiblenWhich I meet now pays for one colonoscopy every ten years I have had three in the last 10 years because Dr recommend every two or three years because of lots of large polypsnHad blue cross blue shield with last job my husband had two complete shoulder surgery and we paid less than one thousand dollars for both definitely wished my employer didn’t have this insurance

Have had this insurance in one form or another whether employer based, Cobra & Medicare Part C. The plan pays what they say they'll pay.nnAs with most plans you have innetwork and out of network. Stay in-network and work with your Dr & insurance if needed to go out of network and you won't have any issues.nnI'd almost say I have a degree in insurance workings as I handle it all in my household. IF you know what you're looking for and choose wisely you should have smooth sailing. Whenever I've met my deductible for the year then afterwards they've covered the services 100% as the plan stated they did.nnLooking at insurance options today brought me to leave this review. Those who are having billing issues need to contact the place sending you the bill and make sure it's been filed correctly and you understand the explanation of benefits as Sanford Health Plan will gladly go over them with you as I've found through the last 14-15yrs. Now making changes and seeing which route I need to go.

A pre-retirement couple, my husband and I have held a Sanford Health Insurance policy, simplicity 5000 for several years. We had lots of claims, Sanford paid for exactly what the policy stated without any hassles except for one batch of prescription food which was solved in 10 days. Private purchased health insurance costs a lot and the lower the deductible or out of pocket cost the higher the monthly premium. Since the ACA, companies are obligated to supply the information about the policies that are on the Federal Exchange. I didn't buy through the exchange but I shopped there because comparing companies and policies is easy on that web site. Sanford policies have a fair value. They paid our claims and even gave us an estimate for an out of network surgery cost when we asked about it ahead of time. Also I have always been directed to a helpful staff member when I have had questions. If you are new to private purchase you will have sticker shock but shop around and I think you'll be able to agree that Sanford Health Insurance is fair market value. For me the claims process was very smooth and the staff helps us use the network.

I would like to rate this lower, but you have to put one star. I separated from a job and opted to pay the COBRA payment continuing my insurance with Sanford Health Plan. Someone dropped the ball on their end and I get the runaround. Because they screwed it up, I get sent to collections. Most of the time you can't speak to anyone, you have to leave a message. And no one returns your call. Disgusting customer service. Just another example of big money abusing those without. Venting here is probably pointless too!

If there were any zero stars, I would have given that. Very high deductible. Poor coverage. Poor customer service. Looks like it is run by a group of thieves.
