This place is really cool. I took a historical tour of the building. The top stories used to be a jail. There is lots of beautiful parts of this courthouse.

Found out that a new procedure for obtaining a birth certificate requires obtaining the document from the county where you were born...I thought it would be a little difficult to locate this document...but not so...the clerk's office was very diligent and patient and found my record of birth still in the books which had not yet been computerized..it took the pleasant clerk only a few minutes before she called back to notify me of this discovery and then to explain what additional items would be needed to complete the process 8n order to retrieve the document....There are many records, from the past to the present, being moved in and around the Jefferson County's Clerk's offices which keeps them quite busy...KUDOS to you all who work in these clerk's offices and thanks again for your diligence, patience and kindness during the research into my request...Have a great day!

Whether on jury duty or needing help in county offices, I've never been disappointed. Workers are courteous. I came for voter registrar training on one of the posted days & no one else showed up. They ushered me into an office and gave me personalized training just as though I was in a group. They helped me with title changes to my father's home, the bar association suggested a lawyer for my needs. It is a large complex and means a great deal of walking, but I think they do a great job.

The court house functions are more efficient than ever before. Tax office has kiosk for ticket by type of transaction. No wait today for title change. Juror selection process is also now online and saves time and fuel.. nice old building from the 1930 era.

Called to ask for resources for my license, I'm aware the DMV handles licensure but nobody at the DMV has helped me. Whoever answered my call hung up on me.nNice day to you too. Who does the city government pay to answer these phones? I suggest they find anyone else because whatever older white lady answered was stiff and after the hang-up, I was pretty appalled.nLooking forward to you guys getting your stuff together.
