Boilery Seafood & Grill

First off, this review is based off service alone. I didn’t even get the chance to try the food. I walk into a near empty restaurant and wait 5-10 minutes to be seated because a table needed to be cleaned. After i get seated i wait another 5-10 to be greeted by our waitress who took our appetizer and drink order. It had been another 5-10 while i watched our waitress walk out with a seafood extravaganza for another table & still i didn’t even have a drink. We left after that. The food looked good, unfortunately didn’t get the chance to try it.

The seafood is good but you guys need to hire more waitresses to handle volume on your busy nights. I had to go get my own drinks bc the waitresses said she was busy. As I'm writing this I've been here an hour and still no food. You better be glad the food is good or I would have walked. You have the potential to be great hire people

This was my first visit to The Boilery. We ordered the soft shell crab basket with sweet potato fries. The crab was breaded and fried. It had quiet a lot of batter and was good but just a little greasy for my taste. The slaw was ok and the sweet potato fries were good.nIn hindsight, I probably should have ordered a boiled seafood dinner instead of something fried. We loved the waitress and the service was top notch!

Awesome service at the bar (manager) good Calamari, We had the king crab, snow crab, scallops, clams with the sausage, potatoes and corn. It was alright but we had it boiled with no seasoning so it was bland and the butter garlic dipping sauce was good not so much the boilery sauce. The bread was good....nBar service (drinks) with the manager was awesome... Not the help so much!

Disappointing. As with many restaurants I went based on a friend’s recommendation. I wasn’t very happy. I was raised on the coast and I know my seafood. Though the crab was properly cooked it was salty. I had never had salty crabs but let me back up. The decor is nice as to be expected in Cool Springs so I was stoked. We started with the Gumbo, It was bland. I understand that restaurants try to cater to the masses but Cajun food is normally spicy; I’m not saying it had to burn off my tongue but a little kick would have been nice. We moved on to the main dish, the crab basket. The presentation was...nice. The ‘basket’ was presented in a stainless steel dish, unfortunately that made it look small. Also, I’m used to eating crab old school...and it’s messy. They gave me a bib and gloves and moist towelettes which I liked but This appeared too neat but it didn’t derail anything. Now Crab is very easy to cook, just drop it in boiling water for 2-4 minutes and you’re done. The secret is in how the water is seasoned. Typically you use some combination of butter, lemon and seasoning (I like Old Bay). As long as you don’t overcook the crab everything should be fine. I broke the first leg and it was straight salty. I’d never had salty crab and it was terrible. Crab meat is light and flaky and easily picks up what’s in the water. The chef got happy with the salt and it wasn’t good eats. I passed the crab around the table to make sure it wasn’t me and everyone agreed it was way too salty...to the point I couldn’t finish it. The meal was over at that point. In my opinion if you can’t prepare a decent batch of crabs then I don’t care what else you make. I just can’t...I may try it again but it’s unlikely.
