The waterfall is quite nice and easy to get to. 0.55 mile walk, slight 30 degree incline. The Panther Trailhead is a narrow and steeper trail with a nice view of the water as you walk with a really cool waterfall stream?.nnHas camps, areas for tenting, and picnic areas as you head toward the waterfall.nParking could be better.
This is a beautiful park, with a variety of trails to explore for day hikes - long and short. What really makes this destination stand out is the staff. The rangers here are the most helpful and pleasant I have encountered. We have talked to several different memberes of the staff and they definitely are a credit to their park and their profession.
Visited this place in the winter. The park has a plethora of great hiking trails. Went on the Panther Branch trail, which was around 2.6 miles round trip. The park is blessed with scenic beauty and is very well maintained. Hiking trails are well marked as well. Would like to come back in fall and spring, which are supposed to be the best times to visit.
This is a wonderful state park to camp and hike in. The campground has excellent tent pads and updated bathrooms. There is even a creek nearby that you can hear at night from some of the campsites. There are numerous trails of varied difficulties; including two waterfalls on the same trail. All trails are dog friendly and offer forest views, streams, and mountain overlooks once you get farther up the mountains. We absolutely love this park and recommend a visit, either for a day trip or overnight. Visit the welcome center for mementos to help support the park. Every employee we talked to was friendly and extremely helpful. We'll be back often.
Beautiful park, awesome hiking trails! I had so much fun. I can't wait to come back next year!
