I live in Florida and passed my clinical exam for social work. I was told during my application process that I needed to take my master level exam in order to be granted my LMSW license. My colleagues who also took the same exam as me were granted their LMSW license without issues. The difference between my colleagues and I are they are white and I’m black. So I filed a complaint for discrimination. Of course the same day I filed the complaint I was granted my license. The issue was not that I didn’t meet the requirements for the license. The issue was the lack of consistency and fairness. They need to be held accountable for their actions.

First of all, the job of the board is to protect the public, not you. Some of these reviews make it seem like they're angry the board didn't advocate for them. That's not their job, it's the other way around.nnI give them 4 stars because they were reasonably quick and answered all my questions timely and professionally. Not sure what else you would expect from a licensing board but I'd take that any day.

I’ve called twice now and both experiences are horrible. The people are rude, and act like they hate their jobs. I’m just trying to get my questions answered and they act like it’s a problem. Nobody wants to help you, they are just quick to try to hurry off the phone. Somethings are extremely confusing online and sometimes I would just like to be able to talk to someone to understand that I’m doing everything right with the application process. I feel like such a bother to these people.

Very unprofessional specifically the Speech-Language and Audiology board. I called over 10 times DURING business hours to speak with a representative. Additionally, the representative does not have a voice messaging system, so it is impossible to leave a voice message. Also, while expressing my questions/concerns, the representative seemed very impatient and was in a hurry to end the conversation. This board really needs to get their act together and have more employees who display better professional and customer service skills!!
