Stinks to have to make an appointment, but in and out was easy.
We drove to Madison from Sioux Falls because we couldn't get an appt for a second driving test for a month in SF. Made an appt in Madison for the next week. Staff and Examiner were very friendly and helpful unlike our experience in Sioux Falls the first time. Office is setup in the 4H building but it wasn't busy at all and we didn't have to wait 20 minutes like in SF either.
2:45 pm! Thats absolutely ridiculous! School doesnt even get out until 3:30. Just tried to go get my drivers liscense and have a great day. You know, new driver! And, we pull up and its closed. That was the most disappointed I have ever been.
Not very friendly people there and no appointments. But not first come first serve either. It's who you know I guess. Next time I'll go to Sioux Falls and save their time!!!
The DMV exam station is in the 4H building, behind the building you can see from the street. From what I saw and heard, it's best to make an appointment online if you need to test, download, print and fill out the first part of the form at home and have all the documentation you'll need when you arrive.
