Mike and Davis Field Aviation have been fantastic to work with. They are diligent, responsive, and accommodating. I've been extremely pleased with their level of service and will continue to use them in the future.
I can’t recommend that you use these people to work on your airplane. I had them install new GPS, audio, panel and auto pilot. The auto pilot gave me several problems and after 2 trips back they finally just sent me the part and told me to fix it myself.nWhen they installed my auto pilot they did not tighten the connectors where they tied into the pitot system which created a leak.nI had to take it to another shop to be fixed and the bill was $750.nSpend $40,000 with a company and they can’t or won’t stand behind their work.nMy recommendation; cheap work is never good and good work is never cheap.nI would find someplace else to do business.
As usual you are not informed. It was not the the autopilot disconnect it was the power switch. Which on the phone you said was probably the case. You told me to fly it back over. Which is a 4 hour trip for me. Instead of having the $17 part you expected it to be, you verified that was the problem and said you would order it. When it came in you said bring it back. I said I couldn’t take off another half day for you to reinstall the switch; just send it and I’ll have it done in the field. I never said it was “all your fault”. The other avionics shop said the pitot system was leaking at the point you had made your connections and it took him 10 hours to track it down. For which he charged $75 dollars an hour to find what you failed to do properly. That’s all I asked you to pay for. Was the portion of the work you failed to do properly. And yes I spent $8000 dollars on an auto pilot I have not used yet. But I haven’t used the flight steam 210 or Bluetooth audio yet either.nYou tapped into the pitot static system and according to the installation instructions and FAR you should have recertified it.nAnd let’s not forget the radio work you did and the auto pilot you did both exceeded your quote. Which you sprang on me at the end of the job. Nothing like finishing a job and saying it went over the quote. Sorryud83dude09
