The food was proper food and home cooked. Made with care and the staff were kind and attentive. Really good coffee. Filled up with local people coming in for lunch and a chat. Crafts and artwork for sale or just to admire there. It is a delightful, bright, artistic, interesting and quirky place and I would eat here very regularly if I lived in De Smet.
Such yummy donuts and coffee as well as it being an adorable store!
I grew up around DeSmet as a child. Was nice to stop in to their local cafe. Food was great.
We really enjoyed great customer service with delicious food and coffee at Ward's in DeSmet. The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots and bun hit the spot on this cold blustery day! They offer delicious soups as well as salads, burgers, sandwiches, cookies, doughnuts and other items. We also loved looking around at their SD made items. I would recommend, and will be going back to Ward's when in town again!
Neat place to shop for South Dakota made items and good food!
