Love this location. Good parking, great selection of food and shopping. They have a trader Joe's and a starbucks. Win win

Amazing shopping center. Everything you need in one place, with areas to sit & eat outside and take in the views or do some people watching.

Eastgate's claim to fame (IMHO) is Trader Joe's. If you have never been to a TJ shop, do yourself a bit favor and head out to Eastgate in Chapel Hill, NC. Excellent prices, a full stocked wine section with an extremely knowledgeable consultant on site at all times, wide (very) assortment of dried fruits and nuts wwaaaaayyy beyond the peanuts, almonds, and cashews available everywhere else. First time I have found shelled hazelnuts by the pound. Friendly, competent, attentive work force ready to drop whatever they are doing to help you find something. How cool to be treated as if you are an actual customer. Go there - you will be happy.

My favorites in this shopping center are The Dollar Tree, Rose Nail's, The Loop and Brueggar's. They all get five stars!! Very problematic traffic flow since it is also for a cut through to get to Franklin St or Fordham Blvd. Unfortunately, Steinmart went out of business, so no real department store in Chapel Hill. My problem with this place is that due to Trader Joe's, Dollar Tree cannot sell groceries, which is due to some contractual issues with them having the monopoly on selling groceries in Eastgate. Last I looked, it was foggy, but still America, land of free trade.
