Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe

The dosas were perfectly crispy and tender. The tandoori chicken was nicely spiced even my somewhat-picky children loved it. I really enjoyed the carrot yogurt dip. And the rice pudding was a refreshing way to finish the meal.nnBut by far the highlight for the whole family was the grapefruit kombucha. So bright and smooth.

I'd always heard about this place and needed to give it a try. Overall, I was pleased, but I'm not sure I'd go back, being completely honest.nnThe food was flavorful but just not what I expected. I love Indian, and maybe this is just a different style than what I'm used to, but I didn't think it was spectacular like many seem to think.nnI'm bumping the review up a star because I know Vimala does amazing things for this community, but for twenty bucks I expected more than was delivered. There are many other great Indian places in the area that I'd rather go to. Still a solid option though for sure, just a little different and not quite what I was expecting.

She's a true social justice, renaissance women who practices what she preaches...real, quality ingredients and decent wages for her workers. Support her new membership club! She's an important part of the Durham-Chapel Hill, NC community!

Very nice owner treating employees well. Food is good, portions could be larger.
