From the moment I stepped into Little Sunshine’s Playhouse during the first trimester of pregnancy, I knew this is where I wanted to enroll my child. This place is whimsical and magical, but also incredibly secure. Every day that I walked into this building, my son and I were greeted by friendly, welcoming staff, and everyone in the building knew my son. He loved saying “hi” and “bye” to all his friends. The numerous safety features including double-coded doors, cameras in every classroom, and full-time staffed front desk made me feel secure knowing he was well-cared for and that the staff understand their responsibility to every child. Further, while the cost is higher than some of the other daycares, you absolutely get your money’s worth, with classes in music, art, yoga, sign language, and Spanish. My son grew leaps and bounds, and has already met ALL of his 24 month milestones, and he’s only 21 months-old. I have no doubt much of this comes from the fun, playful Reggio Emilia curriculum. I was literally devastated to leave this school and only did so because of relocating. I can’t say enough good things about Mary, Breanne, Sarah, Daniel, and all of the teachers who cared for my precious baby. You will not be disappointed if you enroll your child at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse.

We can't recommend LSP enough. The staff are so loving and respectful of all the kids, and are deeply committed to building a strong school community with a focus on excellence and continuous improvement. They keep the kids so busy, with fun play-based daily curriculum, monthly educational units, and enrichment opportunities (like art, music, science, gym) starting in the infant rooms. Our daughter will enter PreK this year with the third-party assessed academic readiness of a 6.5-year-old. We often find our toddler counting to himself in Spanish these days. The staff are so attentive and willing to work with families to meet all of a child's unique needs. And the school's added features like LuvNotes (a daily email including photos, videos, and notes about your child's day) and the Watch Me Grow system (live video stream from all classrooms and common areas) will calm any parental anxieties. I'm sure I sound like a commercial or something, but we have been so thrilled with our experience there that it's hard not to brag. Definitely check it out!

I would highly recommend Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool to anyone who is looking for a daycare/pre-school in the University City area.nnLSP is a clean, secure and fun-loving atmosphere with teachers who are dedicated and compassionate about making a difference in these young kiddos’ lives. The outdoor area and treehouse is private yet spacious and allows for plenty of physical activity throughout the day. We love the healthy menus, and the modern technology (daily electronic ‘LuvNotes’ and the ability to peek in on your little via the Kiddie Cams) that facilitates a comfortable and transparent environment. LSP goes above and beyond the regular parent/teacher conferences, and also hosts a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year (a Thanksgiving feast, LSP Olympics, Winter programs and Mother’s/Father’s Day breakfasts). It’s not only a great way to get to know the entire staff, but also meet all the other families!nnAs parents, we are extremely happy to be a part of the LSP family!
