I am fairly new to the area and was looking for a stylist who is about healthy hair and efficient with my time. Studio 23 was less than a mile from my home so I was stoked to try it. I have been here since. EJ does my hair so wonderfully people literally stop me asking is it real and to tell me how beautiful it is. I appreciate that and her not having me sit around for hours. I’ve never been there over 2hrs. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. I’ve recommended several people and will continue. EJ is definitely talented and knowledgeable in this hair game. Love her and Z!

I usually don't leave reviews, or if I'm unhappy with a service I was provided, I will shake it off and keep it moving, but this time is a little different being that I left this establishment feeling very cheated, and upset.nnI will start with the unorganized and rushed website. Prices aren't listed, and the prices that are listed are very vague. For example, a silk press for kids is listed as $75 and up... what is the and up for?nnSecondly, I arrive at the business on time for my appointment, and the doors were locked, ok fine maybe she's running late, I get it... 15 minutes go by, so I decided to send a text, got an automatic response that someone would return my call by 6pm. Waited a few minutes later and decided to call the number listed on the door, automatic voicemail and text received. Finally the owner comes to the door and invites us in. She did apologize for her tardiness and proceeds to tell us to spray our hands with the provided hand sanitizer.nnThe overall appearance of the salon was nice, but it was fairly cold inside and had no available paper towel in the restroom.nnThe appointment was for my 9 year old daughter, for her first silk press. I was asked to fill out a paper that asked what services I preferred and what condition her hair was in followed by the additional services available to me WITH NO PRICES LISTED such as hydration etc! There was one question, I can't remember exactly however, I remember writing depending on the price, never got a price. Prices should be listed on the form. For example, what if I would've checked other services that sounded like she may have needed, not knowing it would be an additional $1,000.nnAfter the wash was complete, EJ starts to wash and detangle her hair. My daughter is tender headed, so I stood up to watch to see how she was handling her experience, being that it was her first time and I'm her mom there for support. EJ points her finger at me to tell me not to stand and watch her, that she doesn't work well with mama's and tender headed children, that really upset me, but I usually don't let things get me out of character so I sit back down....nnA few moments later, EJ proceeds to ask me if I detangled my daughter's hair, my response was no, I knew you were going to wash it so I didn't. What I really wanted to say is, no I didn't, that's what I'm paying you for... but again, out of character for me.nnQuestion, how many of you go to get a sew in with your hair already braided down, or go to a nail salon with your feet already scrubbed, and your toe nails cut.... I'll wait ✋ stylists these days want everything done already when you arrive, make their job easier and get paid. Doesn't work like that.nnLastly, my daughter's hair is finally complete, which is absolutely gorgeous might I add (besides the fact that EJ didn't ask me how I wanted my daughter's hair parted, did I want a side part down the middle, she literally did what she wanted..)nnThen she says that'll be $115. I'm thinking to myself, maybe she forgot I paid the $25 deposit so I asked, is that including the $25? She says YES! So immediately I'm thinking, how in the hell did $75 turn into $140???nWhat in the entire hell did she do to her hair? She asked me if I wanted her hair trimmed, I declined, I'm glad I did or that would've be another $50 ud83eudd37‍♀ufe0f I didn't question the price, I went ahead and paid her, maybe she needed the money more than me. Or, maybe she charged me extra for detangling it, again not listed on the website.nnI have NEVER been so upset in my life!nnAlthough, EJ did a great job on my daughter's hair, I will NOT recommend her based on her tardiness, unprofessionalism and her exorbitant prices!nn#NEVERAgain

Just very expensive. And for the money you want her full attention. One person doing everything. Need more help.

I had my first experience in this salon and it was great. The owner EJ did my hair and it turned out amazing! I even decided to get my daughters hair done as well. The customer service was nice and friendly, the music made for good relaxing vibes and even though I was a walk in I didn't have to wait long. I walked in with a head full of hair and trusted her to relax, cut, dye and style my hair. Luckily she did not let me down!! I would definitely recommend and I will absolutely be back!

Love, Love, Love the Studio23 crew! Ebony and her assistant are Amazing. My hair thanks me every time I go there. My hair stays straight longer and is shinier. If you are having any kind of hair issues this is the place to go. Great environment.
