At Colonial Baptist, the power of God is unmistakable in the preaching. Pastor Brent, Pastor James, and all of the teachers and preachers walk through the Bible in a very thorough (exegetical) way that explains the passage and leaves the hearer with a more clear understanding. The excellent preaching and the church’s high view of Scripture translate into compassionate leadership and preaching, passionate, congregational worship and thoughtful/strategic equipping of the saints through their Group classes. They love people where they are and offer Biblical counseling from a compassionate and humble perspective. They send out missionaries regularly and place an emphasis on everyone supporting them. I like that families, individuals, older and younger generations are all valued and often addressed appropriately in the sermons. Listening to Pastor Brent helps me understand Scripture so much more and makes me want to love Jesus and others more, and read my Bible more!

I would highly recommend this church. The pastors love the Lord and place a high emphasis on the Bible always carefully exegeting the Word of God.

During the morning service, the singing feels like a big show for the guy up on stage like it's his concert. Any attempt at a joke during the sermon makes me cringe. The youth pastor who they occasionaly parade around the stage for some reason can't keep a good speaking tempo throughout his speech, and often times stops what he's doing to cry. The sermons themselves feel like cookie cutter sermons. I could have attended a church in Ohio and heard the same thing.

The sermon was such a blessing and encouragement, and to encounter friends we had not seen in years, was an added blessing!
