I spent very limited time in VA Beach, but found this church based on Google reviews. Not fond of larger big box churches, but this one is grand in size, but and big in heart. Incredible Pastor and family. The members are truly welcoming, and make you feel at home.

Tonight, my family and I attended the Wave Church for Christmas Eve as we were visiting the area for the holidays. Prior to attending, we researched contemporary churches in the area and found this one to be similar to our home church.nnOverall we found the church to be very unwelcoming.nnThe ushers were unkind about allowing us to sit in the upper seating when it was apparent there was little seating below. We waited until the upper seating was open.nnThe music and performance was very good for the occasion, even bringing in live animals.nnWe were disappointed in the impersonal message by the Pastor who was reading directly from notes the entire service and not heartfelt or reading from scripture. We felt like he was yelling into the microphone the entire time. We have not attended a Sunday service to compare if this is normal. Unfortunately, if in the area to visit family again, we would find a different place to worship.
