We just recently moved to Lynchburg from out of state. The staff at Lynchburg Utilities Department were extremely helpful, processed our water and trash needs quickly, and even allowed us to have a friend come in to pay the deposit needed to set up an account. Their updated online bill pay is convenient and easy to use. The people are wonderful and helpful and we appreciated their kindness.
Worst utility department I’ve ever had to deal with anywhere I’ve lived. We missed our payment by 1 week so they cut our water off and charged us $100 to turn it back on.
Current issue: Never seem to have an open line to talk to a representative. Overall: Terribly run operation
The website is extremely frustrating; not user-friendly at all. It needs major improvement ASAP due to several functions not properly working. For example, when prompted to enter an account number, it is error prone, which results in my inability to pay my bills online. Not acceptable for a website in 2016.
