Cindy, the Inn's proprietor, is the best! Homemade cookies, cozy accommodations, and breakfast beyond compare! Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from it all. Quiet, peaceful area. Pictures of the horses are from the dining room window.

My husband and I had a great one night stay here before biking the creeper trail!! Cindy is the perfect hostess. She had warm cookies for us that night and an amazing breakfast the following morning. Black Fort Inn is very cozy, clean, and nicely decorated with antiques. Highly recommend!
So far, so great!! Checked in a few hours ago...Great location, close to the railway trail!! Cindy, the owner operator is very nice, served us hot tea, water, whatever we wanted upon check in!!! Cheeses and cracker plate she provided with the candy bowl was delicious.
The host, Cindy is so gracious and an excellent chef! The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast is ample and delicious, Cindy makes sure you want for nothing. Right next to the Virginia Creeper Trail and downtown, you can't beat the location. Ask her to show you her horses and you won't be disappointed.
