A truly life changing event for me. I entered the church and found nobody there. As a lot of Catholic churches do, the doors were not locked. I slowly entered as humble as I could be. Dropping my pack and scarf on a pew. I sat and took it all in. After saying some silent prayer to assure the powers that be I meant no harm, I started to explore. I was so impressed with the stained glass. Also intrigued by the different stations of the cross. Being that I wasn't raised Catholic I wasn't familiar with that. I wandered over to the confessional and took a look inside. Outside of the confessional was a book that I wasn't sure of the purpose. I at first thought it was a book for visitors to sign. but as I scroll back through the pages to the very beginning I realized what it was for. It was a book where you write the name of a dead loved one to be prayed for. Seeing as how my trip was centered around losing my father and being sick myself I found this quite appropriate. I signed my dad's name and said a prayer for him. I only was on Martha's Vineyard for 4 days so I didn't have a lot of time to spend doing different things. I would say I spent almost two hours in the church refocusing, talking to God and finding peace. Thank you to the parishioners of this chapel for allowing me to enjoy your sanctuary.

Beautiful church for the Catholic inclined. Mass crowded on Sunday.
