Chaminade University of Honolulu

We heard about Chaminade University from a friend and when our daughter was accepted to Manoa and Chaminade, we flew out to tour both colleges. Both were beautiful but we were sold at the sheer “like home” feeling Chaminade offered. Everyone was so friendly and the dorms felt like a smaller scale apartment building. Don’t get me wrong Manoa was GORGEOUS and great, but the common bathrooms shared by each floor was a big concern for us.nnChaminade is small enough where the teachers and staff actually know your name and there’s a wonderful support system for their students. Our daughter came from a small private school in LA and we felt leaving the mainland and coming to HI was culture shock enough; so coming to a smaller schoolnoffered some familiarity and comfort.nnShe is now in her second semester of her second year and absolutely LOVES it! The island, the school, her 4 Roomate’s, and her new island Ohana have made this her second home, and we feel very safe with her there.nnI can not say enough wonderful things about this school. From the way they handled the pandemic, to their small classrooms & fun activities- it’s just amazing all around!

Chaminade University of Honolulu is a private Marianist university in Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1955 by the Society of Mary, Chaminade is located in Kaimuki, Honolulu at the base of St. Louis Heights. Chaminade offers bachelor's degrees in 23 fields of study and five master's degree programs. The school specializes in biology, business, criminal justice, education, forensic sciences, interior design, nursing, and religious studies. Chaminade University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
