Roosevelt Arch

Sturdy stone arch that lends an air of dignity and anticipation to visitors entering Yellowstone from the north. Worth stopping by for photos of your family when entering/exiting the park near Gardiner.

Roosevelt Arch was a nice experience, but nothing spectacular. Wouldn’t recommend the detour to see it unless you’re entering through the North entrance, which is right beside it.

The location of Roosevelt Arch is conveniently located almost in the middle of both entrances to Yellowstone, but is more on the north entrance side. The architecture of the arch looks very well structured and thought through. A highly recommended spot to take pictures either before or coming back from Yellowstone.

I had heard that this arch was one of the iconic places in Yellowstone but when i saw it it was a disappointment. Yes, the entrance is nice, but nothing to write home about. Besides there is almost no reference to the park or a nice landscape behind. I would not recommend taking a detour from Mammoth Hot Springs area, only if you actually entry the park through here.
