I had gone to Dr. Henry for years accepting the long wait time. Until one unfortunate event where one of her staff stated I ignored her. I was being solicited by the clinic for a child nutrition program and I was caught between excusing myself from the woman who was wanting my information and the medical assistant calling me back. Before I knew it the assistant shut the door on me while I was walking towards the door. I was left to wait another 10-15 minutes to be taken back and I was considering leaving the appointment. When I went back Dr. Henry asked me to apologize to her staff. Why would I ignore her staff when I needed to get back to work and return my son to school?! I tried to explain what happened to Dr. Henry and she said she would go ahead and apologize on my behalf. When I left the office that day after paying a $70 copay, I didn’t even know what medical advice she gave me for my son. I left the office completely stunned. First of all, why are there solicitors in the waiting area? Second, why would the doctor think it’s her place to guilt shame me based on what her staff had told her?
