A newer addition to Dayton, as a park anyway. Beautiful views along the river, nicely maintained trails, a beach, disc golf course. Wonderful spot to walk pets, from dogs to horses, as well as an Autumn duck hunter 's dream. Close to many nearby homes, but still feels isolated, and is usually quiet and peaceful. A great little hile here can take you to views of a nice little dam area, beach, and wildlife galore. The occasional crane, blue heron, bald eagle, and pelican can all be spotted here, and there is a comfy swimming hole that always has enough water for a dip, just beware when the water is low, as the carp will nibble your toes some. Fishing would be alright, but mercury contamination is still a thing in this area, so I'd catch and release only. The walk to the river from the east side of the park is just under a half mile, but the trail is even and straight. Toddlers to elderly can make the walk with relative ease in al l but extreme weatjer.
