The gates were locked so we camped just outside the refuge. Nice area for collecting Pecos diamonds.

Great spot to wander! Saw badgers, jackrabbit and lots of insects. Bring a uv light to find those scorpions!

Not sure if this place is marked wrong on the Google maps but there is a gate that is close. Map says I still got 3 miles to go but there is a sign that says unauthorized entry prohibited.nud83eudd37‍♂ufe0f

Salt Creek Wilderness is a neat area with lots of hiking. The views are awesome, wildlife, the flowers are beautiful, the watering holes are neat (can be a bit muddy and sticky beware!) with dark colors and swirls.... entrancing and enchanting!
