Dr. Salko was very kind and good at listening to my description of my symptoms, however in hindsight, after finding the right medical team, I found him to be unhelpful by being too cautious about treatments and diagnosis methods. I had asked for an MRA with contrast in 2014 for my left hip and sacroiliac joint pain, and he rejected that method until last year, under my pressure he ordered the MRA with contrast which showed a significant labral tear that I had been suffering from for eight years unnecessarily due to his lack of proactive care. I took the MRA results to my current orthopedic physician who nearly immediately operated upon seeing me and told me I was on the verge of needing a total hip replacement at age 30. Dr. Salko wanted to use steroids for my labral tear, denying its role in my debilitating symptoms. If I had listened to him, I might have a new hip instead because corticosteroids would have delayed my opportunity for surgery for another six months. I believe a doctor's worth is correlated by his/her proactive, timely decisions made to cure the patient and Dr.Salko delayed my diagnosis for four years, making my rehabilitation difficult and time consuming (I'm still in rehabilitation and will be for a year and a half post op.) My quality of life was worse off by letting him lead me on month after month trying medications that did nothing and by not allowing me to participate in my own care until four years of begging had passed. I do not recommend this doctor.

I found Dr Salko to be a caring estute individual who went above and beyond for me. I went to him in severe pain and his treatments returned me to a more normal functioning.
