Prima Pediatrics

If i could give this office a zero I would. I tried calling during my 3rd trimester to set up an appt. for my soon to be newborn and was told to call back after baby was born, I did just that. The person who I spoke with asked where the baby was born and I informed her I had a home birth. I understand it is something not common but also not something unheard of. I would also like to add that my home birth was assisted by two midwives. I had all the same prenatal care I would have received seeing a midwife at a clinic. With that said she FREAKED out. She said we are pro vaccination. I said okay. Side note: Choosing a home birth does not make you anti vaccinations. she then stated in an urgent, almost panicked tone, we need to see her IMMEDIATELY... IMMEDIATELY and that they needed to see all of baby's medical and birth records. I said okay, no problem. Was seen 3 days after baby was born. I was asked 4 times if I had received prenatal care. I said yup.. and was then told I needed to bring in paperwork. I was already super annoyed at this point because of how and the tone I was being spoken to. Doctor saw the baby and gave horrible advice about breastfeeding. I was informed I should (1) not breastfeed for comfort, (2) let baby cry some so baby can eat with vigor, (3) cold environment is best she also told me everything that can go wrong if baby does not eat enough e.g. can lose oxygen to the brain. Thank God I did my research, took birthing and parenting classes prior to this experience. Doctor said if I was having trouble breastfeeding, give formula. I said should I not call a lactation consultant first. She said nope. I one hundred percent think she spoke to me like this because the baby was born at home. She wanted us to come back in two days. I called Blackstone Valley Pediatrics to switch baby and was super well received there. I informed Prima and they contacted Blackstone to try and raise alarms. Prima also called me and insisted I needed to reschedule my appt. because legally baby was in their care.nnI don't usually write reviews but it was so bad. There is a lot more that I can write but do not want to make this post any longer. Overall, super rude intrusive front desk employee and poor , detrimental advice provided by pediatrician to first time mom.nnBaby is now 4 months old, exclusively breastfeed, normal weight and has up to date vaccinations.

I’m seeing an overall trend about negativity and disrespect from staff at the front desk. It’s shocking to me that this hasn’t been addressed and continues to be an issue at the practice. As an expectant mother I was told that there are physicians here who would meet the needs and care for my family, but I will not be seeking care here any more. As a pediatric facility, this is shameful.

I went in for a referral to PT due to the fact that someone had been dropped on my head crowd surfing. Instead the lady (always a different doctor never the same one which is horrible) she was blonde. Ignored the reason I was there and demanded she had access to my mental health records. Her job was to take care of illness and injury. I have a therapist and a psychiatrist for my mental health aspect. Then got mad when I refused to sign a document to share my mental health with her. Never got that referral. And then you guys wondered why I never showed up to my appointments. You guys need to have the same doctor for the same patient not a different one everytime, not pressure a patient into signing over information that isn’t the doctors business, and treat them for what they came in for.

Amazing and attentive doctors. Never had an issue with anyone at the front desk. Love them.

Front desk receptionist is very rude. Unprofessional. Actually made me want to transfer the kids out of there.
