just last night, stayed here. was a fine, comfortable and splendid cabin. the front desk was kind & courteous. i highly recommend it to anyone who wants a old fashion adventure/vacation. and the view is incredible!
What was I thinking making a reservation at the “plantation motel”? This is clearly my mistake for ever thinking it would be okay...nbooked a reservation at 630 from the road online, received two confirmation emails (one including the phrase, “the plantation motel said:”) & I arrived at 9:30 to find a key for a very different kind of room then what I’d reserved, and a receptionist (by phone) who clearly wanted nothing more in life then to go back to sleep. I was ultimately told by phone ‘take the room or leave.’ Needless to say, I choose to leave and go to a normal hotel that has no problem accepting guests at 9:30...nI admit some fault, I did not see the check in time listed In one of the emails of 2 to 8, but I suggest, perhaps this business should not be listed on booking websites in this way if they cannot accommodate what seems to me to be a basic reservation. If you must stay here, call on the phone and make sure you are clear about what you want and make sure that they understand that you are coming, or maybe just sleep somewhere else...
Excellent location with a beautiful view of Lake Erie, well maintained and owners are super friendly!!
The owner Todd and a couple younger male workers helped us fix our flat tire when we were leaving our stay from there, the rooms were also pretty clean and once the ac was on and running for a little bit the room was very chilly which I enjoyed, and the restroom was very clean as well. 10/10 would come stay again and would recommend:)
Dirty and unfriendly staff. Not somewhere you'll enjoy staying, but better than sleeping outside...
