Jersey City Free Public Library

Very rude and not helpful at all. I checked online for the operating hours bcz I walk with a cane and is painful to walk (parking is non existent). Last few weeks the hours were 1-5 so I was very glad to see updated hours of 9am -6pm! I literally walked over 3 blocks just to see the library closed. I called and was rudely told to do everything online. I am trying to just get a dang library card lol. So I go online and it is asking for a pin # which I don't have bcz I have never had a card here! It's a public library, not Fort Knox!

Agree that the staff is rude. There is a staff member whose job is to sit in a dark corner and just yell at you from afar. Sometimes he comes out to the sidewalk like a hungry bear just yelling.nI work too, I get it. It sucks. But the unwarranted rudeness is out of control.nFeel like the staff requires an apology for having the audacity to check a book out.

This place sucks.. The staff is RUDE... And they are very lazy.. They only work there for a free paycheck...the place needs to be cleaned.. Very dirty & nasty... Good luck..!!!

Very good place, small but neat. You do not need a member card to study inside the library. It has free Wifi, charging stations and water fountain. A very good place to study on weekend.
