Carla has created a magical place of community, art, and amazing hair artists. Every time I’ve gone to balance (and I’ve been going to Balance since 2004) I’ve walked out with amazing cut or color. Truly a gem in Jersey City. Folks of all gender identities and sexual orientations will be made to feel like a valued customer and treated with respect. I’ve recommended so many friends to Balance Salon and most have become repeat customers. Balance is a small owner run business that deserves all the love.

Carla is the BEST. Convinced my husband to come here and he was happy with both his first, and now second, haircut with Carla, both very different. She listens and gives you what you want. I've come to Balance for years and Carla is one of the best cutters ever. She is also funny, kind, decent, and accommodating. Plus, the salon has fun energy! Great place to get cut and color and just hang out - scads of fun folks drop by. During CV-19 Carla has been scrupulous about sanitizing, enforcing social distance, and mask wearing. You can't go wrong here!

All time fave hair salon in JC. Dana is ridiculously talented and awesome to be around. Plus she’s always educating herself on her craft, Which always makes you feel more confident as a client. The owner has been generous and hilarious each time I’ve seen her. It’s a different, edgier, more authentic kiki vibe. Sweetest little punk vibes you ever did see. They are very good at helping push and support doing something different with your hair or seeing that you really just want something beautiful and natural and either way they will bang it out in a way that you’re super happy with.

Amaaaaazing Place. Not only do they have amazing stylist but the have clothing shop in the back with amazing finds. I always make atleast 2 purchases.

My husband and I have been going to Balance for over 10 years. Even though we’ve moved fromnJersey City, we still come here, fromn45 min away. Carla and her staff, in particular Sasha, always listen to what you want and offer suggestions if you don’t know. I’ve always left loving my cut, color, highlights, etc. You feel part of a community coming here, and we highly recommend them.nnRegarding COVID-19, Carla has taken extreme precautions to keep her customers and her staff safe. I felt completely comfortable at my appointment, which was 90 min long.
