The case involved personal injury related to an ADA disability, deafness. The case worker::n1. Did not understand what a closed captioned phone is, a lifeline for the Deaf.n2. After explaining my deafness, she asked in the middle of the conversation if I had a disability??? That came after “have you been in the service.” Obviously she was reading from a check list w/o thinking.n3. She did not know the legal differences between service & comfort/support animals. They are HUGE. ONLY service animals are included under the ADA. a law I have been protected under since 1997 when I hired an attorney to secure an ADA accommodation at work from the NYC Dep’t. of Education, no small feat.nnLEGAL ZOOM is probably better.
