I've been a resident of Augusta for several years and have occasionally had to contact the public works department. Each time I have called, the staff is incredibly polite and responsive to my questions or concerns. To date, I have been able to resolve all of my issues with just a single phone call.nnThe City of Augusta is fortunate to have very committed and capable employees working for this department.

Workers routinely, lazily toss people's trash cans and lids all over the ground. This causes them to be blown into the street and destroyed or lost. It's very simple and easy to place the lid back on the can. You should be required to replace all my broken cans and lids.

Got hung up on by the director while in the middle of making a complaint about sidewalk care. Also made a suggestion that it may be good to rethink how everything is handled to which I got the response 'so what do you suggest we do.' Was I spicy and irritated? Yes (for which I apologized for at least twice.) My concerns were greeted with someone with a raisednvoice and then I was hung up on (again-after at least two genuine apologies) while I was in the middle of speaking.nMaybe if you work for the city- be able to take some criticism of your job

I live in Mayfair and every year since we have been there (9 years now) the plowing has gotten worse and worse. After the storm on 3/13/18, I had to shovel almost 8FT INTO THE ROAD in order to get out of my driveway. Only 20ft down from my driveway there is a telephone pole that sits at the road edge of the sidewalk and there was at least 12ft of snow from where the plow had gone by to where the pole was located. I understand that plowing snow is not an easy job but to be that far off from the side of the road is just un-excusable.

Losing the publics trust and not being there for community poor leadership very unorganized! :( I worked here until end January id know very sad after Jerry left got worse wish he'd been able to stay but he was ready for change sadly.. As for head personnel Leslie she's just not family oriented and understanding in my personal opinion granted she adores her dogs as she's only employee allowed keep them at work haha. Anyway sorry Dan Weeks hope things get better!!! But let it be known the Parks and Recreation Department does have passion and care greatly about there community big shout out to Chris B. Rich W. Andy C. and last but not least Shawn W. You guys truly have passion and take pride your work oh almost forgot very important individual that works extremely hard keep all sports active and that's Mr. Bruce!!! They deserve serious recognition!!!
