Great service...awesome work done on both my dress uniform and my duty uniform and great prices..9 patches sewed on at 35 dollars cant beat it.

My personal experience was a great one. My sister (the bride) had her very intricate dress altered with her, she loved it. As for myself, I needed my dress sized up as I gained weight in the few months leading up to the wedding. She worked on my dress and did amazing.

(This is the message I sent to the owner of the bridal shop where Cozy Cottage was the only provided tailor) I just wanted to let you know about my experience with Cozy Cottage. Only because I think you should know as a business person since you utilize her services. Here goes, My mom picked up my dress on the Thursday before our wedding. Brenda the owner herself brought the dress out to my mothers car and laid it in there for her. Mom delivered it to me the following day after the girls and I had checked into the Senator around 4pm. Upon receiving the dress and hanging it up to get a good look at it, I noticed that there was a pin sticking out of one of the pieces of floral embroidery. So, I pulled the pin out thinking “okay, this must have just gotten left behind” and to my complete disbelief, the entire half of the embroidery fell down. Frantic, I searched the dress over and found at least 6 additional pins where work had not been finished. On top of that, the belt that was supposed to be sewn to the waistline of the dress was literally hanging off on one side. Additionally, the gown had several holes near the seams and what appeared to be an extremely shabby sewing job. Last but not least it was wrinkled beyond belief - it clearly had not been steamed and pressed as promised. So, I called Brenda and her voicemail immediately picked up. I left a frantic/upset message while trying to continue getting ready to goto our rehearsal dinner and then quickly tried her back again out of sheer panic. She answered the second time and seemed baffled as to how this happened. Plainly stating that she had “someone come in to help out and they must not have seen the pins.” Then she told me that she was on her way to camp and would have to turn around over an hour a way to come back.. which I told her she absolutely needed to do. When she did finally arrive back at our hotel, she flew in, in what seemed like a fury of anger and as my girls tried to show her where all of the mistakes were she waved them off irritated. My maid of honor expressed that I wanted some of my expenses back for this incredible inconvenience and she waved that off as well. She grabbed the dress and as quickly as she came in, she flew back out. Luckily, the dress was back at our hotel by the time we arrived back from our rehearsal dinner —- but I will tell you.. she left me a very condescending card with a note that stated “sorry about the two pins that were left on the dress.” She also left a bottle of cheap champagne and some OJ. Never to hear from her again. I paid $325 for alterations from this woman.. and I don’t even know where to begin with how unprofessional it was of her number one, let unfinished work like that leave her place of business.. and two, to react the way that she did and without me receiving any iota of my money back for the inconvenience and distress she caused myself and my wedding party. I am not a girl to complain, heck — I don’t even send food back when it’s not cooked to my liking but this was supposed to be my special time and she really put a huge damper in it from the word go. I’m not sure what you can do with this information but I just wanted to let you know what happened to me so that perhaps, someone else can be spared of this misfortune in the future.nnOur wedding was in August of 2019 and I still to this day have nightmares about this mishap. I hope that no one ever has to deal with this on their special day!

I am part of a bridal party that got dresses at Dreams in Augusta. The only reason we had dresses altered here is because they must refer all services to her.nnWhen we first got fitted at Dreams when dresses came in, she was asking why I wasn't wearing the bra I would wear the day of during fitting. I told her I didn't plan to wear one because the dress had enough support and she was very rude about that decision. She took measurents to alter and told us she would call.nnTwo weeks before the wedding, we hadn't been contacted about dress status, the bride tried many times to contact her to set up a time to come try on final alterations. We had picked a day to go, and she finally replied saying we had to pick a different time, which we made work.nnWhen we arrived to pick up dresses, I went to put mine on before we left and some stitching she had done in the front to pull the dress closed (her decision during first try-on) looked like it had been stitched in like 30sec by hand, so sure enough the stitching broke as soon as I put it on, so she just cut the loose strings. My alterations, which were just that and adjusting length, was $80. I've never spent nearly that much at a seamstress.nnThe maid of honors dress, that unfortunately couldn't come so we brought it to her that day just in case, didn't have the straps adjusted at all, or nearly as much as they needed to be. So we called on a friend to come fix it instead of taking it back.nnI rarely ever leave negative reviews unless it has happened multiple times, but overall I won't ever be back for alterations, especially with her snappy attitude.

When I went to get my dress fitted for my alteration, she said it would be between 55 and 65 dollars. I went in in early April and am supposed to pick up my dress this afternoon, so I called her yesterday to verify the price and make sure my dress was finished. I called a couple times previously and was not told my dress would be more expensive. When I called yesterday she said the alterations would be 95 dollars. I am a 17 year old girl and was unable to budget correctly. She should have called when she knew it would b more expensive than she initially said but she didn't. I had absolutely no missed calls from her. I haven't seen the dress yet and I'm sure she did a good job, but I'm quite frustrated that she mislead me on the price. I get that it was more expensive, but I should have been notified before she did much work to it. Luckily she said she could do 80 dollars, but it's still quite rude how she didn't notify me. I'm hoping perhaps she did call while my phone was off (which is RARE), but I urge you to b cautious of price and be sure to anticipate spending more than she initially tells you.
