This hotel overall is good with nice clean rooms, however, the hotel doesn't seem to care about our feedback that we provided at the end our stay. We had issues with the front desk who did a very poor job meeting our needs and was not wearing his mask properly. He didn’t give us any information regarding the hotel and the facilities. At the end of our trip, we learned that there is a rooftop pool, there is another oceanfront swimming pool and a spa at the Club. We had no idea and therefore we were not able utilize those facilities which would have added more enjoyable moments in our stay at your hotel. We felt like even though we paid a good amount of money, we were actually not able utilize any of the benefits. This was something we were not expecting from West Street Hotel and we were disappointed. Therefore, we reached out to hotel and provided this feedback. The hotel didn't even respond. I have never seen something like this before, it was even more disappointing.
Just got back from a 2 night stay at west street hotel. I so badly wanted to give 5 stars, but couldn’t.nReceptionists were very friendly and helpful from beginning to end.nThe room was fabulous with a stunning view. Very clean. Pillows were very small and not comfortable at all. I had to stack 2-3 just to get comfortable.nTwice we had housekeeping banging on our doors, waking us up while we were trying to sleep in, after we had requested no housekeeping. Both occasions they said they had the wrong room and apologized.nWe tried to order dinner from the Irish pub the hotel owns one night l, and when we tried to place a takeout order, she blatantly just said “no we can’t do that sorry.” I’ve worked in restaurants for many years and have never heard of this. We were also hung up on, twice. Blew my mind, really. So we went somewhere else.nNext morning we are awoken once again by housekeeping. The room service breakfast we ordered showed up almost 30 minutes late. We had to eat it super quick as checkout time was within the hour. Food was sloppily thrown into containers. And we had several things missing that had to be brought back over. Wish we had gone somewhere else as the food was not worth the wait. And the side of bacon we ordered was SIX dollars. For 2 small slices. What was supposed to be a relaxing morning of sleeping in on our final day Was unfortunately quite stressful.nI would probably come again but definitely get food elsewhere.
We stayed at West Street Thursday-Monday of Labor Day weekend and truly had a wonderful stay. The hotel is comfortable and the location couldn't be better! We opted to pay a little bit more for an ‘ocean view’ room and it was SO worth it. If you don't go for the ‘ocean view’ your view will 100% be looking at the parking lot. Our view couldn't have been more beautiful to wake up to. Seeing the sunrise over the water from our balcony (huge balcony let me note) was wonderful. The staff we interacted with were always attentive and friendly. We LOVED the rooftop pool and enjoyed cocktails up there after a day of hiking and biking. There's no hot tub up on the rooftop, but West Street is and the hotel across the street, Harborside, are both OPAL hotels and guests at West Street can use Harborside's hot tub...which we did. Super easy since it's only takes 30 seconds to walk across the street to Harborside. West Street has an on-site parking lot, which makes it really easy to use your car every day. We needed our car daily in order to get to the mountains at Acadia and the parking situation couldn't have been easier. The hotel's location on West Street is super convenient -- everything we wanted to do in Bar Habor was a ~5 min or so walk. We had the best time in Bar Habor/Acadia and the West Street Hotel truly made that possible! We would 100% stay here again (next time we'll bring our dog since they're dog friendly!).
Our favorite Hotel in Bar Harbor! My Husband and I had such an Incredible experience last year while staying here during our Wedding. We loved it so much that we gifted my parents with a West Street gift card so they could enjoy a stay for their 35th Wedding Anniversary and booked a room for ourselves to celebrate our 1st Anniversary there next week! We can't wait to go back.nnThe rooftop pool is is one our Favorite features. You can see all of Frenchman's bay, the Pier, and also a peak at Cadillac Mountain behind you. The service was absolutely top notch. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Walking into the Hotel is such a lovely experience. Everything is meticulously clean and smells Amazing. I loved the scent so much we bought the same candle they use and incorporated it in our own home. Paddy's their in house Restaurant has Amazing food. I recommend the Benedict for breakfast! The ocean front rooms are glorious, sunsets and sunrises are incredible on your own private deck. If you're looking for the perfect romantic getaway book a room!
While the price point is up there at the West Street Hotel, my family and I were thrilled with the clean, luxurious, and subtlety nautical themed accommodations. The staff, including Fin the English Labrador Retriever, were friendly. While our room did not face the bay, we were exhausted from hiking all day, so we didn’t see the need. Additionally, there is an adults only rooftop deck with an Infiniti pool that was magnificent and had all the views you could want. Parking was convenient, included in the resort fee, and located in a private lot behind the hotel.nnI highly recommend the West Street Hotel and Bar Harbor!
