Buffalo Ranch Park

Apparently this place changed management in July. After that horses that were once in green lush pastures with more than enough to eat every day, are now left in starkly destitute pastures that are no longer being irrigated or mowed. I am told is is because the mower is broken, and that is why they do not want to irrigate. But they also have refused to fix the mower. So basically nothing is getting done. This would be fine if they were feeding hay/alfalfa right now as an alternative, however they are not. Horses are left starving with not enough nutrition to maintain weight with the weeds and thistles out in the pasture. I am assisting a friend daily and going out and pulling her horse twice a day to feed our own purchased hay and now supplimental grain due to the fact her horse dropped weight significantly. This takes us 3 hours per day not including travel. I understand this is a self care facility however the board agreement for the pasture is that they will be free fed on your pasture that will be irrigated and mowed and you are out of compliance. Do you expect every pasture boarder to come and pull their horse out twice a day to eat? That is unacceptable but the only options we have had to prevent the horse from starving to death. I have now spent over $200 in supplimental grain and hay alone in the last month just in an attempt to put weight back on the horse. I brought the vet Dr. Jace Hill out to rule out teeth and other issues. No other issues found, just very poor nutrition in the pastures due to the management. When asked when they will start to feed, I am hearing "soon". This has been the answer for months now. We also have a 25% board increase this month. It's a shame that one of the most beautiful facilities in the state is now in such a bad situation.
