Reviews
Not sure why all the 1 star reviews. Been going to this location for the past few years. First couple of visits was for glasses and contacts (great prices BTW) with me bringing my prescription from For Eyes.. The last 2, maybe 3, years I have had eye exams there as well. Never had appointment issues and never had a problem in getting through on the phone. I'm satisfied with the quality of care and have a 20:20 prescription.
I read on one of those mom FB pages that they accepted walk-ins and they were not busy. I tried calling several times, no response just prompting to leave a message. I tried scheduling online - just an empty window opens, can’t go anything with it but close. “Knowing” they take walk ins I’m thinking I’m already doing too much so I go in with kindergartener to get her cleared for KG. I go up to an iPad where it seems you can’t put your name in. Out comes a woman, grabs the iPad and disconnects it and starts asking questions as to what I am doing. I, completely blindsided, actually start explaining and then, because she does not really want to hear what I have to say, she goes: what do you need? Clearance for KG, I said. We don’t do walk ins and we’re not taking any more appointments until oct 28th. (It’s oct 14th). All of it said with such a rude tone and attitude that I could not believe I was in Costco. This experience scratches the bottom of bad customer service. I understand the situation may have changed and walk ins are no longer accepted, but there are sooo many other ways this could have been communicated better, from phone message to that miserable person handling the situation on site. Needless to say, I will never go back, I don’t care how cheap they may be. As far as I’m concerned, a little too cheap for me.
I'm very fortunate I found a frame to work with my very very thick prescription. The glasses are great. I hope I have luck again. Plus I order my contacts here too. No problems
Went for an eye exam for contacts and the optometrist did not give me the correct prescription. They would not correct my prescription unless I paid for another $100 eye exam. So not only did I waste money on contacts that wont work for me, I also wasted $100 on the eye exam. Avoid this place.
It took me 4 attempts to get an appointment scheduled. Little did I know this was barely the beginning of what was to come. Continue reading to read the drama that ensued and why they received 1 Star!nI left messages 3 times-1 was returned, which of course, I missed that call. I immediately called back, left another message-no call back. I called again, and left another message-no call back. Hmm, anybody see a pattern developing here??nOn the fourth attempt in 3 weeks, they finally took the live call, rather than pushing it straight through to voicemail, as they had the previous times.nWhen I explained to the the young woman taking the call, my frustration in trying to get an appointment, she immediately became defensive, AND whinny, how she was the only one there to answer calls, blah, blah, blah. Isn’t that your job, and isn’t that what you get paid to do, and did someone FORCE you to take this job?? ud83dude31ud83eudd2dud83dude2enFinally, the day of the appointment, I arrived early knowing how parking can be. The appointment was for 1 pm. Made no difference-it was still packed, and it took a moment to find a spot. By the time I made it inside, a massive migraine had begun forming-which was one of the reasons I needed to have my current script looked at. ud83eudd2fud83eudd2fud83eudd2fnI accidentally went toward the back of the store, not the side where the Optical Department was set up-causing me to be just about 15 minutes late.nThe Optometrist’s office was dark, NO lights on, NOT a soul inside, and NO sign or note on the door.nI went over to the counter where a wonderful “receptionist” (not sure of her exact title) offered to assist me and find out what was going on.nShe finally tracked the Optometrist down, who informed her she went to LUNCH!!!nI know by this point your thinking “You’re kidding me-right??” Nope! I’m serious—she went to LUNCH, and had no intentions of returning for at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.nBy this time her assistant arrives, (the whinny, defensive one) she immediately has an attitude. She’s asks me if I was late. I apologized, and explained again, what caused the lateness. The next thing out of her mouth was, “Well, did you call to say you were going to be late??”nLet me tell you, by this point, not only was my migraine at a level 10, but my degree of taking her attitude had also crept up a few notches!!nWhy would I call you when I was in the store, on time originally, and NONE of you bother to answer the phone anyway??nI than turned it back on her and asked if they had bothered trying to reach out to me, as the customer, to see if I was coming, even though I had confirmednthe appointment the day before!nWho talks to customer’s this way anyway???nShe never answered the question, and went onto tell me the optometrist would be back in a half hour, but she has another appointment scheduled at that time, and I would have to wait until 3:15 pm to be seen.nOR I could reschedule!nAt that point I explained there would be no waiting, nor would there be rescheduling, not as long as this particular optometrist was the independent contractor working there in the Naperville location.nThe thing is, I frequently have been in the Napervillenlocation and have overheard people complaining.nI did stop at the front to speak with the store manager, who informed me they’ve had multiple complaints against both of these two. In the past, and very recently. He asked if I intended to reschedule and I let him know NOT A CHANCE IN HELL as long as she remained to be be their choice, and I would reschedule—but it would be with a different location, like possibly Bolingbrook.nForewarned is forearmed-so if you decide to take the chance after reading this, keep this in mind. I hope for your sake, you wouldn’t bother!
