In January 2020, Father Yoo Seung-won came from the Seoul Archdiocese.nIt was a meaningful year when we were able to dedicate the temple that our friendly and cheerful priest and our community had prepared in 26 years.nAlthough our community is small, everyone is like a family, and we share a warm heart to offer prayers for each other.nThe cathedral, which had been closed after COVID-19, was reopened on August 30th.nVolunteers who had been trained in the reopening of the Parish of Joliet thoroughly disinfected them, and those who entered the church wore masks and watched Mass while keeping a safe distance.nThank you to God and the Virgin Mary for taking care of us so that we can safely celebrate Mass.
In February, Bishop Pates, deputy vice president of Joliet, gave a community blessing. We look forward to the day when we can gather together joyfully and pray in the newly prepared temple of God.nnWe pray that God's peace will come to the homes of all who visit this place.
