The volunteer fire fighters at station 61 helped me tremendously in an unexpected way. My ring finger became so swollen after an insect sting that I needed to have my wedding ring cut off. The jewelers were all closed and I didn’t want to have to go to the ER. Within 5 minutes of my call for help, I drove over and was met by two firefighters. They both were kind and diligent and were able to safely saw off my wedding ring while preserving it as well as they could. Even though this was a small emergency, I was treated as if this was important and worth doing well. Thankful for this wonderful resource in our amazing and friendly small town of Glen Ellyn.
