Harwood Heights Police Department

They put their automated speed limit trailer thingy in places where it can and will cause a traffic accident. I get promoting safety is important but it makes no sense to take up a whole lane of traffic on a narrow 2 way street when cars barely have enough room to pass as is. Common sense used to be more common until the main qualifications for police officer became college and being a friend of the mayor.

Possibly the most useless police force in America. Most officers on the force are to Young to be useful they know everything untill you give them the license plate number of the person that hit you and you get absolutely no help.

They write lots of speeding tickets and always following me trying to get me speeding. How can the speed limit of a 4 lane major highway be 30mph? Avoid the area of HarlemnAnd foster at all costs.

Am afraid that they are not checking on non residential parked cars here is why.nMy shop faces Gunnison has side door by Neenah st, car was parked 4 more than 2 months on the side door of my shop and literally leaving no space for me to maneuver around my door was blocking half of the sidewalk , it was not registered as the law said only registered only residential people can park in that Park within these two months I called the police many times I would say at least 6 times and although they say to me you'll have to call after 10 pm because the sign said only residential between 8 to 10 p.m. I come from work tired and late I can go to my shop at night to call them but the idea is they don't believe me they think this car is moving till the last time after two months the police officer came and finally he looked at the brakes rotors and he saw them rusted plus my neighbor was the witness who told them this card never moved it's been there forever then finally they did something to remove it.nAren't they supposed to check at least once a week if there's a car that is parked and not the registered supposed to be ticketed? How can a car park for two months in a residential area that supposed to be residential and get away with it , you figure, you do the Math.nI'm not here to complain I'm always thankful for the police officer services I know they have more serious things to take care of but it makes me unhappy when I see a lot of cars park on that street who are not registered and they don't leave a space for people who live in the building this is not fair.

I got a bogus ticket and came to a hearing at the Harwood Heights Police Dept. The hearing officer was rude and unfair. Would not consider my photo evidence and my information.it was literally a joke. He was uncaring ignorant and totally opinionated. I was treated unfairly and told i could afford the fee based on the type of car i drove. A very unfair hearing and all about money. It was a total waste of my time. Beware of this place.
