I was met with a long line to have my priority package shipped. Because of Covid I understand the delays. My package was ready for shipment except for the priority information I needed. All the paperwork was gone from the slots..perhaps because of the virus. I caught an employee who was leaving and asked him about the missing priority forms and where to get them. He claimed not to know anything about that, said to ask the people inside, and hurried away. Perhaps he was leaving for a break. I did ask inside, and it wasn't a problem, but that did take some extra time and a longer wait for those behind me. To be fair, the gentleman I had at the front desk was very kind, very helpful. and apologized for the wait. Thank you, David. There was proper spacing inside by floor markers of where to stand, and plexiglass dividers between the postal workers and customers. All in all, a good experience.
Most of personell work efficiently and are friendly. Even long lines go by quickly. Trying to get that one girl to crack a smile is hard to achieve!
I was expecting an international package, which had arrived in US and USPS notice of attempted delivery was left on my door. When I went to the post office to pick up the package a few days later, it was missing. A clerk took my contact info and assured me that a supervisor would investigate and get back to me. Since then- no follow up. I have tried multiple times to call the office, no one answers the line.nIn addition, I understand the difficulties when working during Covid, distancing and staff shortage, but on the day I waited at the office there was a line of over 20 people, spreding to outside in freezing temperatures. One clerk was working with customers, one was dealing with passports for a family the whole time. During the wait, no shift manager was to be seen anywhere and no one else came to help them.
There is a wonderful woman who works here (I wish I remembered her name). But I called about forgetting to put a stamp on a very important piece of mail before dropping it into the blue mailbox on the corner. She came herself and picked it out and let me put the stamp on it.nnI am SO thankful for this wonderful employee!
There is never a good time to visit here if you need to go to the desk. Continually understaffed and serving a giant area - only 2 stations open now for a line that is literally out the door (at least 20 people waiting). Giving two stars because the staff aren't at fault, they're doing their best. It was a mistake to shut down the RM post office when this is the result for years afterwards. If any post office management is reading this, please staff better at this location!!
