SEC Dentistry

The best experience with a dentist office I've ever had. I am so glad I found this clinic! I'm usually a nervous wreck when going to dental appointments but the entire staff at SEC Dentistry in Athens quickly put me at ease. I felt welcomed since the moment I walked in the front door. The front officer manager was wonderful (sorry, I forgot her name), Lindsey the Hygienist was absolutely wonderful! The best Hygienist I've ever met. The Dr was wonderful and explained everything in a way I could understand. I am so happy I found this dentist office! I can finally stop being scared and procrastinating my dental appointments :)

I have always been pleased with both dentist and the office staff has been very friendly until today! I had the rudest experience with scheduling an appointment! Three members of my family go to SEC and within the last year we all have had an appointment canceled. As a full time worker we all know how difficult it can be to schedule appointments and therefore to reschedule. So when I called to reschedule I mentioned that my appointment had been canceled more than once and hopefully it wouldn’t again. She told me they had an opening tomorrow. I responded that I was in Florida and my husband is having surgery next week. So nothing sooner than the following week. I told her it needed to be after 2:00. She asked if it could be earlier. I said no more than 15 minutes. Then she put me on hold. NEVER did I say the appointment had to be at 2:00 or that even had to be soon. I didn’t care if it was next month. Well that’s when I assume the office manager came on and she immediately attacked without me saying one word to her. She said she has never called a doctor and said she had to have a 2:00 appointment! Then stated they have limited late afternoon appointments. At that point I said most people work until 5 and I didn’t consider 2 late. Then she mentioned that I canceled my 82 year olds mother in law because of another appointment! My mother has been in and out of the hospital and just got out after 2 months, is on dialysis just had a colostomy bag put in, has had many strokes and yes her teeth are the last thing we are worried about now! I told her how rude and she mentioned that the first girl I talked to was in tears which is odd because my husband heard the conversation and never thought I sounded anything more than frustrated! The manager did not hear one word of the conversation or from me before I got a scolding! With this much trouble of rescheduling and canceling appointments it’s time for three patients to find a new office!

Dr Vaughan is an amazing dentist!! I could ask for better treatment. He took the time to explain the procedure and made sure he answered my questions. He took out my wisdom tooth and I had no issues at all. 10/10 recommend!

I came to Sec Dentistry a few weeks ago.. I used to be a patient with Complete Dental when it was in Athens.. I was not pleased with Complete at all, the way they treated me or with the treatment I had done! When I noticed Sec was in the spot complete use to be, i went in and made an appointment! I noticed the staff was not the same, which made my happy and was told that the new DR. that was here used to own his own practice! I decided to give them a chance, and I am glad i did. The staff, and the Dr are wonderful! I will NEVER go to anyone else! They are nice, friendly people who explain every little thing to my understandings when it came to having certain treatment done! I highly recommend Sec Dentistry! You will not be disappointed!!

Dr. Vaughn is awesome...super friendly and skilled. No issues with him at all. My issue is with the management. I was quoted a price for a crown over the phone which they did not honor at time of service. Then, I was quoted a price for a root canal which they also would not honor when I went to have it done. I was made to feel as though I was lying about what prices I was quoted. I ended up leaving without the root canal and will not return.
