I booked a group study room online to find out later that the study room was only available for graduate students. I asked a staff member if she could let us in since no one else was using the room and she said no. Most likely because she did not want to get up from her chair. I do not see how this could affect her employment or conduct so I do not see a reason as to why she could not have let my roommate and I in. Then we proceeded to go to a double occupancy room and we were tattled on because MY ROOMMATE WHO I LIVE WITH AND I were studying together and being good students in a single occupancy, but formerly double occupancy room. The reason was that we could not socially distance in that room which makes absolutely no sense given that WE LIVE IN A TINY DORM TOGETHER AND CAN'T SOCIALLY DISTANCE THERE EITHER!!!! We were asked to leave the library for the rest of the day or further UNNECESSARY CONSEQUENCES would be put in place for us WHEN WE DID NOTHING WRONG. For this reason I am severely disappointed in Texas State University's policies and procedures as my roommate and I were just trying to be good students and use the premises in which WE HAVE PAID A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY TO HAVE ACCESS TO!

Alkek is great. Everything you can possibly need is there. First Floor has Alkek One where you can check out digital equipment, film videos, or create something in Makerspace.

Nice place to study. I love this library structurally and architecturally, but there are some small gripes. First, there are conference rooms on the first floor with doors that close, but walls that leave space below the ceiling so you can hear very clearly what is beading said it if music is being played inside. Secondly, the public computers only have internet explorer and nothing else and one of the two didn't even work. Generally speaking, tough, it's a pretty nice place. I didn't get to check their book collection, as there bottom floor was only computers and the basement was just a lounge and bathrooms, but nice building.
