Terrible. Looked this place up on Google , needed access to a computer to print some forms. I was harassed about parking as SOON as i walked in the door. I spoke with 3 different workers about just simply printing the forms i needed. One lady wanted to help by signing me into a computer, the other lady said they don’t allow guests to access the computers because i don’t have a library card for this specific location. I’m a new resident to Texas so i don’t have a Texas drivers license yet.. they simply denied me. This is outrageous. Now i have to scan the neighborhood to find a place that will help me. Something so small that could’ve taken 5 minutes tops, turns into a scavenger hunt for help. RIDICULOUS!!!
The employees have made a habit out of leaving the building at 4:30pm since COVID even though their hours say they are open till 5pm on Saturdays. They tell you to call twice and when you arrive they refuse to answer the phone. There are no patrons in the building. The place is dead. What are the employees so busy doing inside that they cannot bring out a single book? If that is not your hours anymore you need to change the sign on the building and the website. I just watched all the employees flock to their cars minute the clock struck. I know they heard me calling because they kept hanging up the phone. Such a shame.
Just got a library card today(1/27/21). Because of covid-19 library is closed to the public. So they brought my new card out along with a couple of items I checked out during the identity confirmation phone call. Via curbside service. Good service.
Went in for 5 minutes to pick something up and received a parking citation from the college. Seems the college has nothing better to do than harass the citizens of Sugar land and public library patrons. The parking lot was empty.
It’s a little creepy having the library attached to a university, they should be separate. The kids reading (which honestly, I haven’t been since pandemic) is kind of weird. I guess because there were so many kids they read books on a big monitor.
