American National Insurance Company - District Office

The best insurance company. I like the district manager prompt responses. The office managers too are very nice.nMy agent treats me like a family.nI always recommend him to anyone that ask me about life insurance.

I was calling for a policy and Brenda answered the phone. She was extremely rude right out of the gate so my business will go elsewhere. Terrible first impression.

The best service I have ever had. Some of the best prices I have found as well. The district manager was polite, respectful, and helped me with every need.

My mother has got dementia , she has 2 policies with ( ANI ) she has been paying on them since 1980 the policies matured both with a value of $2900 .oo . As moms dementia progressed we have now had to put her in a home . To get help with moms cost of being in the home she is not allowed any assets . Which we needed to cash in and give to the home she is at . It has been a difficult situation for us just with moms dementia and the decision to put her in a home. But then the nightmare of the process to close out the policies . This insurance company has been so difficult. We had to get a ( p.o.a ) which we already had done . Had to send this information to (A.N.I. ) 4 times along with the form of surrender . It is going on 5 months now and the matter has not been resolved . They would not discuss anything with us until they received the P.O.A on the 2 and time although they discussed it with the home . They kept saying it was filled out wrong although they told us how to fill it out . We even got one of their agents to try and help us and to no avail. I would recommend putting your money in a lock box and you would have more money coverage . After 38 years of paying you would think the 2 policies would be worth more than $2900 .oo . After reading some reviews others have had this problem also. We are disgusted with (A.N.I) and the nightmare is not over yet . ( update ) Since they dragged their feet the out come is now we owed 8 thousand dollars, i would not recommend this insurance to anyone . none of them know anything that is going on, most unprofessional, inadequate, big hassle to deal with .if you are not a rich person and have this insurance ,i would suggest cash it in . My mother having this has cost more than what it paid out ,not counting the distress of dealing with them . And now paying out of pocket what the cost of this company dragging their feet , we are not satisfied with the way this company handles business. Not even a apology letter from the c.e.o. please save your children some headache and cash your policy in .we counted it up over the years and mother would have saved more money if she had put the money in a trust for her burial , compared to the pay out . Plus add the cost of this company dragging their feet and the cost is way over 10 thousand dollars. Not happy at all , if they would have just been on top of the matter we would not owe 8 thousand now just on the cost of them . American National should pay the cost that they caused by not being professional. It is hard enough with the other problems going on without American life insurance causing more problems. We had to keep faxing information to them, if your fax machine dont work well buy a new one , that is a part of your buisness practice
