Poteet High School is in need of your help. I fear for my daughter & other students lives when they are crossing the street in their crosswalk. The students will push the button letting cars know to stop because they are crossing the street but majority of the time they are almost hit due to cars not stopping. The police need to be watching over this crosswalk or a crossing guard is needed. Please make changes before someone is hit by a negligent driver.

I live in a quiet part of Mesquite and have lived there since 2008. Mesquite PD has always been responsive and quite professional. I had an issue with a dog owner who was irresponsible with his animals and let them run free from time to time. I called animal control and the police and they both came out. The police officers addressed this with the homeowner once and it was fixed. What I like about Mesquite and the police department is they don't play. They don't put up with speeders, loud music, and drug use. I've seen them pull people over because they are driving around smoking weed and blasting music. It's reasons like this I don't live in Dallas because DPD is a joke. Mesquite PD and the officers are the real deal. My wife and kids sleep well at night because of the men and women of this fine unit.
