A gem of a school that we were lucky enough to find. The hands on teachers is the best. The structure was perfect for my daughter. They were able to make a plan to catch her up in school where she graduated on time. The brilliant way they teach students time management is very impressive. They are not given time of school they earn it which makes them work harder. The staff are very caring and really want and help the students to engage and succeed. My only regret is we did not find them sooner. DLC fosters an environment of inclusion and no judgement. I wish all schools operated this way. I would highly recommend Dallas Learning Center.
My son went to Dallas learning center from 5th grade to graduation. It was a perfect fit for him. The teacher's and staff were wonderful.
The Dallas Learning Center was a great option for us, and even our reluctant student sings its praises. DLC individualizes its instruction to the students and offers the opportunity to learn in a low pressure, accepting environment. In addition to the coursework, the team at DLC helps the students work on time management and study skills. Kathleen Kinard, the founder and director, really “gets” the kids and offers them and their parents sage advice. Highly recommend it!
Dallas Learning Center has been an incredible place for my son. He has attended the school as both a middle schooler and as a high schooler. Dallas Learning Center provides a supportive and challenging learning atmosphere. My son has excelled academically and is very prepared for life after high school thanks to the incredible (and certified) teachers and the leadership at Dallas Learning Center.nnAs a local college educator, I am thoroughly impressed by the preparation the curriculum provides in order for students to reach the goal of a college education if that is their path, as well as the steps taken by the faculty of Dallas Learning Center in order to encourage students to continue on to higher education.
Not every student is destined for the NFL, the NBA, or Major League Baseball; or Harvard, Yale, or Princeton, for that matter. Different students have different needs. The Dallas Learning Center (DLC) exists to mold young minds and to educate kids that learn differently from the majority.nnDLC offers an individualized and targeted approach to learning. The low teacher to student ratio allows maximum contact with the students. Some kids are accelerated learners and complete entire semesters in a few weeks. Others need more time to complete assignments. Some kids are very intelligent, but need to develop focus and improve study skills. Some need to work their way through a variety of issues. DLC welcomes all of these kids. Many are referred by some of the elite schools of Dallas.nnThe DLC staff is kind and caring. Many have advanced degrees. Our child has been going to DLC for more than a year now, and we are impressed with his progress. We are grateful for the staff and administration at DLC, and recommend them unreservedly to anyone whose child could benefit from a little special attention.
