If you’ve ever debated sending your horse out to a trainer, just do it. Highly recommend Amanda Berg Topwind Ranch if you’re anywhere around Oklahoma. Best decision I ever made. ud83dude4cud83cudffdnJust rode my 4 year old around the entire pasture on a loose rein, with every distraction we could possibly find. Did very little ground work before hand, just on getting lined up at my truck/mounting block and helping me step up onto the tailgate without moving. No lunge needed today, which is good since it rained, it’s hot, and we are both lazy.nThe geldings run when we get close, the other mares are nosy & vocal (pictured nickering at us), I have to shoo them off without her ‘shooing’ our from under me, zero issues, stood like a statue, listened to my seat. We went out of view of the herd for most of our ride, in parts of the pasture I haven’t even seen. Not a step out of place, no increase in pace, no nervousness or anxiety from her, no calling out to them. Perfect ride on the books, couldn’t be happier. Amanda by far exceeded my expectation with this little mare, gave me way more than I was even expecting and I will be sending my next horse to her in the spring as well. I came to her with loads of anxiety, we had a few lessons with immediate improvement every time and now I’m way more comfortable & able to ride around alone or with others. Gorgeous facility with amazing horse hotel, they also offer private camp spots with paddocks for your horse which is amazing for anyone traveling through Oklahoma.
