I’ve been going here fishing for the last year. Surprisingly, even though this is a public access area, I always catch a lot of nice catfish. I’ve caught channel catfish as well as flatheads here. There are three basic areas to enter for fishing. If you go past the parking lot over the bridge there is an entrance to the right where you can get under the bridge access easily. The two other access points to the river are from the park parking lot. Simply park your vehicle, and walk down the pathway toward the right. There are two trails to the left down to the water where you can fish from the rocks. I’ve also caught gar here. I started out bass fishing here without much luck. I heard there’s some bowfin here, but haven’t seen them for myself. Anyway, I hope this helps some of you bank fisherman out there. Tight lines ud83dudc4c

I really enjoy running this trail and these lots are great for daylight hour use.

Convenient access, but can be crowded.
