Great hike down to the falls. Not for the faint of heart. The trail gets narrow, steep, and slippery towards the bottom. We navigated fine with three young kids but some older folks coming back up were struggling a bit.nnAccording to my GPS watch it was .7 miles and 469 feet of descent to the base from the parking lot. Ample shade so it's a comfortable hike even on hot days.

Beautiful hike. It is a short but arduous climb down and back up. Well worth it for the awesome falls at the bottom.

I've always wanted to go and now I have. It is so beautiful and peaceful. More than I ever expected. The hike back was a bit rough but it was legs day so we couldn't complain. :-)

Beautiful falls! Definitely worth the hike. The trail is marked as strenuous but our family of five (7 yr old son and two daughters, 11 & 14) made it and all agree the wonderful view is worth the 30 minute trek. If you dare, bring a suit and towel and dip into the water at the foot of the falls.nThe park at the trail head looked pleasant with a small beach and picnic tables. We may come back later in the week to enjoy them. If you dare, use the public restrooms but I would suggest arriving prepared so you don't have to use them.

We took a day trip to see this falls together with few other around Highlands. We were lucky enough to see it during water release time, incredible. BTW, don't let the .6 mile hike from the parking area mislead you. Yes, it is a short hike, but in a very rocky area and on the way back it is a constant up. Good shoes and plenty of water (especially during hot summers) are a must. If you are out of shape, you will know it very quickly.
